What are Google Analytics and how can they help you? Great question! Google analytics are quite possibly the most important tool you can have on your website.  I can already hear you saying "no, it's the contact form on my site, how else would people contact me through my website!?". Well sir, or madam, you are wrong. Having Google analytics installed on your site allows you to track EVERYTHING. Meaning we can see where people come from (referring sites), keywords they used to find you, how long they stayed on your site, the bounce rate, and exactly how many people visited your site.  Seriously, if you're spending money on marketing and advertising, and driving people to your website, shouldn't you be able to tell if that money is being well spent?

Have you heard about Google's answer to Facebook's "like" button? No? Have you been hiding under a rock again!? Geez, well, Google has come up with the "Google+" button.  It is currently in the "limited field test" mode, but was opened up to the masses for a few short hours today, June 30, 2011.  And then promptly closed again because of such a large amount of requests to use it! Twitter was flooded with Google+ requests.....which I'm sure forced the over capacity fail whale to appear for more than a few people this morning. God I hate that whale.

So, what is Google+? Google+ turns all of Google into one giant social network, thanks to a core group of social products and a new navigation bar that integrates sharing into every single Google product.  Here are Mashable's first impressions on Google+:

I hear you asking "why do I need someone to manage my website and social media?" Your website sits there and get a few hits a day, and social media is for high school kids, right!? WRONG! Your website sits there doing nothing, it gets a few hits a day from people who already know you and your business. What about those people out there in the world who have no idea who you are but want your product or service? How do they find you? Your website is live to the world, so they should find you right!? WRONG AGAIN! You need to work at a website. It needs to be fed with new content often....because if it's not, it'll drop in the search engine rankings. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's how things work these days.  Seriously, your content needs to be optimized properly, not by your secretary, or the kid in his parents basement who says he "knows SEO."
